The Basement is Done!

I'm a few weeks late in posting this but the basement is finally done. There are plenty of flaws as I learned my way through it but it turned into a really nice space.

Baby Lucas Bryant Hoffman has arrived!!

Lucas was born at 6:15 AM after 11 hours of labor.
Both Mom and Baby are healthy after a natural child birth.
Luke was born at 7 lbs 9 oz and 20" long.

Baylee is in March Madness

Baylee is playing on a March Madness 3rd grade girls basketball team. Each school puts together one team of girls and have 2 practices before they start a single elimination tournament.

Their first game was Wednesday and the girls did great winning 18-6. Baylee scored 2 of the points with a beautiful arching shot from the free point line.

We had another round of 3D ultra sound today and baby Luke had a good performance. Check out the pics.

The family went to "Becoming Mom" this weekend to get one of the new 4D sonograms of baby Luke. We found out that Luke likes to play "peek a bo"o and was hiding behind his hand and feet most of the session. We did manage to get a couple of decent shots but they asked us to come back in a week and a half and see if we can get some better ones.

Baylee learns to be a big sister

Baylee went to big sister class last weekend where she learned how to put on a diaper and how to be a good big sister to a baby. She loved it and was diapering every doll in site when she got home. I learned a couple things about putting on a diaper too :)

Baylee is Tumbling

Baylee and her friend have been taking a tumbling class for the last couple of months and she loves it. She is learning hand stands, cart wheels, assisted flips and some other fun gymnastics. Baylee loves it so much that she is constantly practicing in the living room. I'm just waiting for the TV to become a casualty of a cartwheel accident :).

We had a tough flag football game this week against the first place team. The kids played great and we were leading at half time by 2 touchdowns. Unfortunately, they figured us out in the second half and came back to win.

Game 2 - We made some changes to the defense and did som extra practice on offense. The extra work paid off with a huge win 48-18.

Bradley's Stat line:

1 TD catch

2 interceptions

1 Defensive TD

Bradley is really standing out as one of the stars of the team. He has a personal goal to lead the league in iterceptions and is currently tied for first with 4.

Bradley - Winter Flag Football

Bradley started a new season of Winter indoor flag football on Sunday. Most of his team is returning from last year and they are excited about their potential. Bradley plays Quarterback and Cornerback on defense.

Unfortunately, the first game was a loss but Bradley walked away with a pretty good stat line:

2 Interceptions

Finishing The Basement

I have been working on finishing the basement for the last year and a half. I been spending about 1-2 days a week working on it although my time line has been accelerated with the baby on the way. Right now I am finishing hanging the drywall and will move on to mudding and sanding by the end of the week.

Even though I have been learning as I go through much of the project, it's turning out fairly nice.

When finished we will have a new living room, a bedroom for Bradley, a full bath and some extra closet space for storage. I am keeping about a third of the basement unfinished for my work shop.

Building the baby's new room . . .

We spent some time this weekend building the baby's nursery. The baby will be staying in a little alcove off our room for the first six months until we get Bradley moved into the new basement.

We had our latest sonogram just before Christmas and found out we are having a baby boy. We are very excited and rushed out to buy his first outfit. Check out the pictures.
